Production Process

In short, it’s a composite system consisting of a “galvanized layer + chemical conversion film + organic coating.”

1. Substrate galvanizing

The first step involves cleaning the cold-rolled steel coil, then applying a zinc layer to both sides of the substrate via hot-dip coating.

2. Chemical pretreatment

The conversion layer: After degreasing and cleaning the galvanized sheet, a chemical conversion treatment, typically phosphating or chromizing, is applied to enhance coating adhesion.

3. Coating

Primer Coat + Top Coat: A polyester primer is applied over the conversion film, followed by the organic coating.

Popular Surface Treatments

(1) Matte/Satin: A soft, non-reflective, and elegant visual effect achieved by reducing the surface gloss.

(2) Frosted: A fine, uniform, and irregular pattern of tiny bumps and grooves is created on the surface through coating and printing processes, similar to natural frost, fine sand, or frosted glass.

(3) Embossed/Patterned: A regular, three-dimensional pattern or design of bumps and grooves is created by pressing pressure onto the surface of a material. This is usually achieved through roller embossing or molding.

(4) Wrinkle/Texture: An irregular, undulating texture similar to wrinkles or leather can effectively conceal minor surface imperfections.

(5) Orange Peel: This texture, similar to the peel of an orange, features tiny, wavy bumps and grooves. Previously considered a surface defect, it is now sought after as a textured effect.
